Session recordings and your privacy

How screen recordings help us improve the app and what we never see.

3 min read · Updated Monday, 20th July, 2026

We sometimes record short sessions of how practitioners use ClientWell so we can spot friction and fix it faster. Recordings are optional and only start if you opt in.

What we record - Mouse clicks, scrolls, and page movements inside the app. - Which parts of the app you visit and how long you spend there.

What we mask - All typed text in inputs, including client names, emails, notes, and phone numbers. - All on-screen text and images. They appear as blurred placeholders in the recording. - We never see the content of your client records, intake answers, session notes, or messages.

How to turn it on or off - You can opt in from the banner that appears when you first sign in. - Change your choice any time in Settings → Account → Help improve ClientWell. - Turning it off stops recording immediately.

Retention Recordings are kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically. We do not share them with anyone else.

FAQ

Can my clients be recorded?
No. Recordings only happen inside your practitioner workspace, not on public booking pages or client portals.
Do I have to agree to be recorded?
